Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora by Massive Entertainment

Senior Level Designer

Duration: June 2021 to December 2023

This was my first project in Massive Entertainment and it was a blast to work on it as I learnt a lot. I quickly became the go to person for script or blockout related questions from the quest team. Did a lot of onboarding of other designers (Narrative, Quest, Tech) from the quest team for smooth communication. Also, worked with programmers to setup the guidelines for quest and level scripts.

  • Made several landmarks/levels from blockout to shippable level of quality from the lens of both Single Player and COOP.

  • Designed the only forced stealth level of the game and managed to make it fun despite the shortage of LD ingredients.

  • Worked on the Pandora reveal quest that was enjoyed by each and every player.

  • Worked on the prologue quest and managed to make it fun even after completely changing it as per the new direction.

  • Prototyped and created several puzzles, gameplay situations that were later used by other designers (level + world) to populate their own content. 

  • Created unique scripts to help fast track the implementation of similar content.

  • Successfully bridged other departments with quest design to align everyone and managed to break silos too.

  • Mentored and Onboarded new members in the quest team.

  • Successfully completed the backlog of other level designers who left the team.
